Coming Soon to the New York Design Center…12th Floor Door Hardware!
For the past several weeks SA Baxter has been working hand in hand with fellow NYDC 12th floor showrooms to furnish their doors with SA Baxter hardware. Each showroom has decided on a specific door pull they feel best compliments their aesthetic. Each has also selected one of our select finishes to complete the project. Are you ready to see what has been chosen?!
Profiles: www.profilesny.com
Profiles selected our Modern Ball Suite, which is a stunning take on a traditional form. The Bauhaus inspiration makes a bold statement in any room, and in the Dark Antique Bronze finish selected (Polished Nickel shown below), the door pull compliments all of the intricate details and antiques Profiles displays. Profiles provides the finest in custom upholstery and furnishings-both in wood and metal. They include antiques from Sweden to the Far East in their collection, while their workrooms in Europe and the United States specialize in craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Denis Miller Associates: www.dennismiller.com
Dennis Miller is a manufacturer and distributor of fine contemporary furniture, lighting and carpets. Dedicated to providing trend-setting designs created by the best of today’s designers as well as classic twentieth century designs, they selected the door pull from our Rustic Bump Suite. The high Polished Nickel finish provides an interesting twist for contemporary homes. Dennis Miller fell in love with the profile of the door pull – important, as their floor to ceiling glass doors remain open daily. The high polished shine mixed with the matte patina in the background creates desirable texture and a multi-dimensional look, which marries Dennis Miller’s trendy and classic aesthetic.
Stephanie Odegard Collections: www.stephanieodegard.com
The selection of our Spiral Themed Suite, which mixes clean lines and artful patterns, complements the detailed products displayed at Stephanie Odegard. A Burnished Brass finish completes the look, adding subtly to details, allowing the craftsman ship of Stephanie Odegard designs to shine. “Seeking to preserve rare and artistic traditions from around the world, Stephanie Odegard has developed a collection of hand-made rugs, furniture, lighting, decorative accessories and architectural elements for remarkable interiors. Committed to ensuring the longevity of these industries while maintaining respect for cultural expression and promoting environmental and social responsibility, Stephanie has spent years forging relationships with skilled artisans with the intent of exploring modern designs using traditional disciplines”. Stay tuned…installation will be in the works for this Fall!
Checkmate…SA Baxter Displays Hardware @ artMRKT Hamptons
We were honored to sponsor this past weekend’s artMRKT Hamptons, which took place on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society. The event kicked off on Thursday with an incredible party.
Our hardware was displayed as a Chess set, with our pieces finished in polished nickel and dark antique bronze.
The creative display extended beyond the incredible artwork, to include ABSOLUT’s team:
Kudos to the Artists, Organizers, and guests.!
Amorphous Bronze…’Growth Chair’ @ Design Miami/Basel
This stunning bronze chair, shown at last week’s Design Miami/Basel event (which happens in conjunction with Art Basel in Switzerland), was created by Designer and Artist Matthias Bengtsson.
The truly fascinating aspect of this concept is the usage of software for the design process – which is driven by a bio-mimicry technique to generate this flowing intertwined form – not unlike the virtual nature-inspired algorithmic designs of Somerville, MA based Nervous System. The form is captivating, as is the color and tone of that bronze…Call us impressed.
3D Printed Magnificent Metal
German Industrial Designer, Ralf Holleis, developed the VRZ 2 Track bicycle, featuring titanium hardware, built via a new proprietary 3D printing technology called LaserCUSING®.
The lugs, bottom bracket, dropouts, and stem are all fabricated using this fascinating additive digital process.
Beautiful golden color, interesting design detail, and cutting edge fabrication technology? What’s not to love?
As discussed here, we use 3D printing here at SA Baxter to develop custom prototypes quickly for internal development, as well as for our clients’ bespoke needs. ¡Viva la 3D Printing Revolución!
