Bronze in Our Backyard…Storm King Features Thomas Houseago

Not far from our Upstate New York Foundry is the world-renowned Storm King Art Center in New Windsor, New York.  Known for stunning and tremendous outdoor sculptures, in an idyllic natural setting, Storm King has recently welcomed a series of works by Thomas Houseago, titled: As I Went Out One Morning.

Mr. Houseago is a Los Angeles-based Artist, well known for his use of simple materials and haunting interpretive works.  His pieces have been exhibited around the globe, and now we get a chance to see and touch his work at the ideal outdoor venue.

Fabric or Bronze?…”Dressed” Collection by Jens Praet

At first glance, Jens Praet’s collection of sculptural furniture pieces appear to have fabric draped over solid forms.  Look more closely and you will see these ‘sheets’ are actually bronze!

The lovely verdigris patina of the ‘draped’ bronze produces a notable contrast to the brushed brass of the main structures.  These pieces truly are functional pieces of sculptural art.

In the Spirit of Joseph Cornell…SA Baxter and Elle Decor

Take a peek at this Joseph Cornell-inspired collage piece, created by Elle Decor.  We were delighted to have our Modern Keyhole Escutcheon (KE-1027) displayed in such a playful and well choreographed display.  Cheers to Anita Sarsini and Sang An for putting together such a beautiful piece.
